ทวีปอเมริกาป่วยโควิดพุ่ง 39 ล้านคน “สังเวย” เฉียด 1 ล้านราย
ทวีปอเมริกาป่วยโควิดพุ่ง - วันที่ 14 ม.ค. ซีเอ็นเอ็น รายงานกระแสหวาดวิตกสถานการณ์ โรคโควิด-19 ที่ยังวิกฤตใน ภูมิภาคอเมริกา หลังจาก นางคาริสสา เอเทียน ผู้อำนวยการองค์การอนามัย (ดับเบิลยูเอชโอ) ประจำภูมิภาคอเมริกา (พีเอเอชโอ) แถลงว่าทวีปอเมริกามีผู้ป่วยติดไวรัสมรณะรวมกันเกือบ 39 ล้านคน และเสียชีวิตราว 925,000 ราย
ถือเป็นเป็นภูมิภาคที่มีผู้ป่วยโรคและผู้เสียชีวิตจากโควิด-19 มากที่สุดในโลก ซึ่งในช่วงสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมามีจำนวนผู้ป่วยใหม่เพิ่มขึ้นเป็นประวัติการณ์ราว 2.5 ล้านคน
โดยสหรัฐอเมริกายังคงรั้งอันดับ 1 ของทวีปและของโลก มีผู้ติดเชื้อสะสม 23.6 ล้านคน เสียชีวิตแล้ว 393,928 ราย บราซิลตามมาในอันดับ 2 ที่ยอดผู้ป่วย 8.2 ล้านคน เสียชีวิต 206,009 ราย อันดับ 3 โคลอมเบียมียอดป่วยรวม 1.8 ล้านคน เสียชีวิต 47,124 ราย อันดับ 4 อาร์เจนตินากับผู้ติดเชื้อสะสม 1.7 ล้านคน เสียชีวิต 44,983 ราย และอันดับ 5 เม็กซิโก มีผู้ป่วยรวม 1.5 ล้านคน เสียชีวิตแล้ว 136,917 ราย
