ฮือฮาอียิปต์พบอีก - บีบีซี รายงานวันที่ 21 ก.ย. ถึงความคืบหน้าการขุดค้น สุสานมัมมี ในเมืองซัคคารา ทางตอนใต้ของกรุงไคโร ประเทศอียิปต์ ซึ่งก่อนหน้านี้พบ โลงศพไม้มัมมี สภาพสมบูรณ์ อายุกว่า 2,500 ปี จำนวน 13 โลงฝังซ้อนกันในหลุมลึกกว่า 11 เมตรของสุสาน เมื่อต้นเดือนก.ย.ที่ผ่านมา ว่า
คณะนักโบราณคดีพบโลงศพไม้อีก 14 โลง รวมโลงศพที่พบในสุสานเมืองซัคคาราเพิ่มเป็น 27 โลง ซึ่งผู้เชี่ยวชาญเชื่อว่าเป็นหนึ่งในการค้นพบครั้งใหญ่ที่เคยเกิดขึ้น
ด้านกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและโบราณคดีของอียิปต์แถลงว่าจากการศึกษาเบื้องต้นพบว่าโลงศพเหล่านี้ยังปิดสนิทและไม่เคยเปิดออกตั้งแต่ถูกฝัง และว่า นายคาห์เลด อัล-อานานี รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและโบราณคดี ชะลอแถลงการค้นพบโลงศพอีกชุดจนกว่าจะลงพื้นที่ตรวจสอบด้วยตัวเอง
โดยนายอานานีได้กล่าวขอบคุณเจ้าหน้าที่ผู้ทำการขุดค้นต่อการทำงานในสภาพแวดล้อมที่ยากลำบาก พร้อมระบุหวังว่าจะสามารถเปิดเผยความลับมากมายของหลุมฝังโลงศพอีกในงานแถลงข่าวในอีกไม่กี่วันข้างหน้านี้

New archaeological finds are common in Egypt, a country whose ancient heritage dates back several millennia. (AFP)
The vast Saqqara necropolis is located around 16 kilometres south of the famed Giza pyramids. It is part of the ancient city of Memphis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and hosts the colossal step Pyramid of Djoser. /EPA/
