โควิด : อินเดียสลด “ไฟไหม้ซ้ำ” - รอยเตอร์ เอพี และ สเตรตส์ไทมส์ รายงานวันที่ 10 ส.ค. ถึงความคืบหน้าเหตุ ไฟไหม้ โรงแรมสวารนาพาเลซซึ่งใช้เป็นศูนย์รักษาและกักตัวผู้ป่วย โรคโควิด-19 ในเมืองวิชยาวาดา รัฐอานธรประเทศ ทางตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของ ประเทศอินเดีย เมื่อช่วงเช้าวันอาทิตย์ที่ 9 ส.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น ว่า ยอดผู้เสียชีวิตเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นอย่างน้อย 11 ราย
ขณะเดียวกันหน่วยกู้ภัยสามารถช่วยเหลือเจ้าหน้าที่การแพทย์และผู้ป่วยรวม 20 คนออกจากจุดเกิดเหตุได้ทันท่วงที เบื้องต้นตำรวจและหน่วยดับเพลิงสันนิษฐานว่าสาเหตุเกิดจากไฟฟ้าลัดวงจร
ด้านนายกรัฐมนตรีนเรนทรา โมที เร่งหารือกับนายชากัน โมฮัน เรดดี มุขมนตรีรัฐอานธรประเทศ ซึ่งแถลงในเวลาต่อมาว่าทางการจะจ่ายเยียวยาครอบครัวเหยื่อครอบครัวละประมาณ 2 ล้านบาท
ทั้งนี้ เหตุดังกล่าวเกิดขึ้นเพียง 3 วันหลังเหตุไฟไหม้แผนกไอซียูของโรงพยาบาลรักษาผู้ติดเชื้อไวรัสมรณะในเมืองอาห์เมดาบัด รัฐคุชราต มีผู้เสียชีวิต 8 ราย เมื่อวันที่ 6 ส.ค.ที่ผ่านมา

Emergency crews rescued up to 20 patients and medical staff from the centre housed in a hotel and took them to hospital, police commissioner B Srinivasulu told journalists at the scene. /ANI/
Initial reports suggest the fire was caused by a short circuit in the centre, police and fire officials said. /ANI/
Television footage showed rescuers wearing face masks and full body suits taking survivors out of the blackened building on trolleys. /ANI/
