จีนยะเยือก! - ซินหัว และ สเตรตส์ไทมส์ รายงานวันที่ 8 ต.ค. ว่า ศูนย์อุตุนิยมวิทยาแห่งชาติ ประเทศจีน แถลงว่าจะเกิด แนวปะทะมวลอากาศเย็น ตั้งแต่วันศุกร์ที่ 10 ต.ค. และต่อเนื่องตลอดช่วงสุดสัปดาห์
คาดว่าอุณหภูมิในเขตปกครองตนเองซินเจียงอุยกูร์จะลดลง 4-6 องศาเซลเซียส และบางพื้นที่อาจลดต่ำสุดถึง 8 องศาเซลเซียส ขณะที่มณฑลเสฉวน ส่านซี และกานซู จะมีฝนตกรวมถึงอุณหภูมิลดต่ำกว่าปกติในช่วง 10 วันข้างหน้า

วันเดียวกัน เอ็นเอชเค รายงานว่า สำนักงานอุตุนิยมวิทยาญี่ปุ่นประกาศเตือนภัย “ไต้ฝุ่นจันหอม” ที่ความเร็วลมสูงสุดใกล้จุดศูนย์กลาง 126 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง เคลื่อนตัวพัดถล่มชายฝั่งภาคตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ ของ ประเทศญี่ปุ่น บริเวณเกาะมินะมิไดโต จากนั้นจะมุ่งหน้าไปยังหมู่เกาะอามามิ ทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือ ในวันศุกร์ที่ 9 ต.ค.
อิทธิพลของพายุจะก่อให้เกิดฝนตกหนัก ลมแรง น้ำท่วมฉับพลัน และดินโคลนถล่ม คาดว่าภูมิภาคคันโต และโทไก จะมีปริมาณน้ำฝนมากถึง 200 มิลลิเมตร ส่วนภูมิภาคคันไซจะมีระดับน้ำฝนสูงสุด 150 มิลลิเมตร
