เกาหลีใต้ “สังเวยโควิด” ทุบสถิติรายวัน - วันที่ 29 ธ.ค. ซีเอ็นเอ็น รายงานว่า ศูนย์ควบคุมและป้องกันโรคแห่งชาติ เกาหลีใต้ (เคซีดีซี) แถลงเมื่อช่วงบ่ายวันที่ 29 ธ.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่นว่า มีผู้เสียชีวิตจาก โรคโควิด-19 เพิ่มขึ้นถึง 40 ราย
ถือเป็นตัวเลขผู้เสียชีวิตรายวันที่สูงที่สุดของประเทศ และมากขึ้นเกือบ 2 เท่าของสถิติผู้เสียชีวิตที่ 24 ราย เมื่อวันที่ 21 และ 22 ธ.ค. ส่วนผู้ติดเชื้อใหม่พบอีก 1,045 คน นับเป็นครั้งแรกในรอบ 2 วันที่ผู้ติดเชื้อรายวันเกินพันคน ส่งผลให้ยอดป่วยสะสมเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 58,725 คน
วันเดียวกัน ประธานาธิบดีมุน แจอิน ผู้นำเกาหลีใต้ แถลงระหว่างประชุมคณะรัฐมนตรีว่า รัฐบาลเห็นชอบผ่านงบประมาณเยียวยาฉุกเฉิน 9.3 ล้านล้านวอน หรือราว 256,000 ล้านบาท เพื่อช่วยเหลือเจ้าของธุรกิจขนาดเล็กและผู้คนที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากมาตรการยับยั้งวิกฤตโควิด-19
ทำเนียบสีน้ำเงินของเกาหลีใต้ระบุผ่านแถลงการณ์ว่า ประธานาธิบดีมุนกล่าวว่าจะเริ่มโครงการแจกจ่ายช่วงต้นเดือนม.ค.2564 โดยบุคคลจะได้รับเงินช่วยเหลือระหว่าง 27,500-82,600 บาท ขึ้นอยู่กับความรุนแรงของผลกระทบต่อการใช้ชีวิต
