โควิด: สเปนโล่งพ้น - วันที่ 25 เม.ย. เดลีเมล์ รายงานว่า นางมาเรีย เฮซุส มอนเตโร โฆษกรัฐบาลสเปนแถลงว่าประเทศผ่านพ้นระยะหนักหน่วงที่สุดของสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของ โรคโควิด-19 แล้ว หลังพบผู้เสียชีวิตรายใหม่ 367 คนในช่วง 24 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
ถือเป็นตัวเลขผู้เสียชีวิตรายวันที่ต่ำที่สุดในรอบกว่า 1 เดือน แต่ยอดผู้เสียชีวิตโดยรวมยังมากที่สุดเป็นอันดับ 3 ของโลกที่ 22,524 คน อย่างไรก็ตาม อัตราการตายที่เพิ่มขึ้นเพียงร้อยละ 1.7 นับเป็นความคืบหน้าที่ดี และรัฐบาลจะหารือถึงการผ่านปรนมาตรการล็อกดาวน์ที่บังคับใช้ตั้งแต่กลางเดือนมี.ค.

ขณะที่ตัวเลขผู้ติดเชื้อรายใหม่เพิ่มขึ้นอีก 6,740 คน สูงสุดในรอบ 20 วันนับตั้งแต่พบผู้ป่วยรายวันเพิ่มสูงสุดเป็นประวัติการณ์ของประเทศที่ 7,026 คน เมื่อต้นเดือนเม.ย. ส่งผลให้ยอดผู้ป่วยสะสมอยู่ที่ 219,764 คน
ทั้งนี้ จำนวนผู้ป่วยใหม่ที่มากขึ้นเป็นผลจากการเปลี่ยนการตรวจสอบโดยใช้แอนติบอดีซึ่งทางการสเปนระบุเองว่าเป็นวิธีที่ยังไม่น่าเชื่อถือมากพอสำหรับใช้ตรวจในวงกว้าง โดยในกลุ่มผู้ป่วยรายใหม่ 6,740 คน มี 3,944 คนที่เจอเชื้อจากวิธีใหม่ และ 2,796 คนพบเชื้อจากวิธีตรวจแบบพีซีอาร์ หรือการตรวจสารพันธุกรรมของไวรัส ซึ่งเป็นวิธีที่ใช้ทั่วโลก

Cases rose over 6,700 to 219,764 from the day before, but the rise in new infections based on more specific testing was much lower, at 2,796, meaning those cured, at 3,105, surpassed new infections for the first time. DailyMail
